Lunar Eclipse 2026 on Holi: Rare coincidence after 100 years – know holika dahan and sutak time?

March 2026 brings a rare total lunar eclipse coinciding with Holi. This celestial event, visible in India, will turn the moon reddish. Ancient traditions dictate a ‘Sutak’ period of nine hours before the eclipse, during which auspicious activities are halted and temples are closed. Holika Dahan can be performed after the eclipse concludes.
